  1. A printed circuit board (PCB), is an 
  2. electrical circuit created by laying 
  3. (printing) `tracks' of a conductor such as 
  4. copper on one or both sides of an insulating 
  5. board. The PCB was invented in 1936 by 
  6. Austrian scientist Paul Eisler, and was first 
  7. used on a large scale in 1948.
